SOUTHMAYD, TX -- Police officers in Southmayd might soon be looking for new jobs. The city's budget troubles are no secret, and now one possible solution has residents concerned for their safety. Stephanie Brletic has more.

SAVOY, TX -- Three people were flown to hospitals after an SUV and an 18-wheeler collided on Highway 82 in Savoy.

BRYAN COUNTY, OK -- Some new emergency tools were put into service in Bryan County on Friday. Two trailers used by FEMA recently bought by the county were unveiled at Friday’s Durant city council meeting.

SHERMAN, TX -- A woman who police say was assaulted by her husband over the weekend has died. Police say Patricia Field, 26, was found dead in her Sherman apartment Wednesday afternoon. Police do not know the actual cause of her death.

DENISON, TX -- Friday marked a very special day for Alice Cox of Denison. She celebrated her 104th birthday.

GRAYSON COUNTY, TX -- A man's mobile home goes up in flames and says he blames his dog. A mobile home on Bass Road in Preston near Lake Texoma caught fire Friday afternoon.

American Fresh Foods of Fort Worth, Texas, is warning consumers to avoid possible roadside sales of ground beef. The company says someone stole a refrigerated truck containing nearly 15,000 pounds of meat possibly contaminated with e-coli bacteria.

DENISON, TX -- Police are looking for the people who stole a truck from a local nursery and set it on fire. Denison police say someone broke into Twin Oaks Nursery early Wednesday morning and stole $11,000 in computer equipment and tools and a truck.

MARSHALL COUNTY, OK -- Officals from the Lake Texoma Association are asking Oklahoma lawmakers for funding to restore recreational facilities at Texoma State Park.

The statistics are out. Texas ranks first in officer deaths for 2007. The Lone Star State had 22 officers killed, up nine from 2006.

SHERMAN, TX -- Sherman Police are releasing surveillance video from a robbery at Albertson’s Supermarket on December 15th when the suspect walked in to the grocery store holding a gun and demanded cash.

ANTLERS, OK -- A man police say was involved in a standoff in Antlers, Oklahoma, on Monday night will be arraigned in court on Thursday. Police have yet to release his name, but authorities say he is accused of holding authorities at bay at a home on Northeast 8th Street in Antlers.

SHERMAN, TX -- Funeral services were held Thursday morning for a man who fell and broke his neck while chopping firewood for his family. Thomas Pettit, of Sherman, was 44. He was at a field across from Cigna off Pool Road near Highway 691 chopping wood.

In the after Christmas rush, some Wal-Mart customers are unable to redeem their gift cards. Some buyers say the cards they purchased do not work inside, or even at the store gas station.

SHERMAN, TX -- Authorities are warning consumers about keeping their gifts safe now that they're unwrapped. What residents put out with the trash could be an invitation for burglaries.
