Sherman unveils new ‘Code Red’ system

SHERMAN, TX -- The City of Sherman now has a new notification system. Fire Chief Jeff Jones says the 'Code Red' system allows him to record messages during emergencies like severe weather, gas leaks, or water main breaks, to either the entire city or just the affected areas.

ARDMORE, OK -- The 2007 National Weimaraner Championships are taking place in Ardmore. Tourism officials are saying when the competition wraps up, 2,000 people from all over the country will have passed through Ardmore.

School rezoning talks continue in Sherman

SHERMAN, TX -- Attendance zones are on the agenda for the Sherman Independent School District school board at a meeting set for Monday night. Administrators have said about 500 elementary school students could be going to different schools next year because two new elementary schools will be open.

3 accused of stealing mentally-challenged woman’s credit card

ARDMORE, OK -- Three people are in the Carter County Jail after police say they took advantage of a relative who is confined to her bed. According to the Ardmore Police Department, the victim’s sister, Janice Lee Evans, 30, stole her handicapped sister’s debit card and withdrew funds.

Hundreds ride for Toy Run

DENISON, TX -- Nearly a thousand bikers on motorcycles rode throughout Grayson County Sunday. They are riding to support the Salvation Army's efforts this holiday season. Event organizers say it’s moving to see the toy run grow each year.

3 in custody in Ector school threat

ECTOR, TX -- Three juveniles are in custody after police say they threatened Ector school students and staff. Officials cancelled classes on Thursday as a precaution, and are informing everyone of the threat on Friday.
