Sherman fire officials back at work

SHERMAN, Tex. -- Two Sherman fire officials are back to work, but with different duties. Fire Chief Jeff Jones says fire marshal Perry Elliott and assistant fire marshal Richard Johnson returned to work this week after being placed on administrative leave at the end of August.

Family speaks out in Denison shooting

DENISON, Tex. -- One person is dead in a stabbing-shooting that happened on at a home on Shannon Road just off Texoma Parkway in Denison. Dennis Ray Weger, 43, died shortly after arriving at TMC Monday afternoon, according to police.

Accidents in Sherman

SHERMAN, Tex. -- An early morning accident at the intersection of Loy Lake Road and Sara Swamy Drive sent two people to the hospital on Tuesday, and a car struck a pick up on the passenger side traveling on Texoma Parkway around noon on Tuesday.

FM 120 to be widened

POTTSBORO, Tex. -- Highway 120 in Pottsboro will be getting a makeover. TXDOT officials say the two lane highway from Highway 996 North to a ¼-mile from FM 406 will be expanded to four lanes.

ARDMORE, Okla. -- Two Ardmore men where treated and released from the hospital late Friday night after a shooting. Police say both men were at the Fraley Park off F Street NW and Martin Luther King Drive on Friday night when a car drove by and fired at both men.

GRAYSON COUNTY, Tex. -- Removal of three Grayson County bridges is under way as construction started Monday. TXDOT officials say the bridges will be moved and placed in area parks as pedestrian bridges.

U.S. company expands ground-beef recall

The Topps Meat Co. on Saturday expanded its recall of frozen hamburger patties to include 21.7 million pounds of ground beef that may be contaminated with E. coli bacteria that sickened more than a dozen people in eight states.

Dangers of tobacco use

ARDMORE, Okla. -- He's nationally known for his opposition to tobacco use. On Friday, he stopped in Ardmore to share his experience with local kids. You may have seen him on ESPN, MTV, or even Good Morning America. Gruen Von Behrens was in town to speak to Ardmore students about the dangers of tobacco use.

Watering ban in Kingston

KINGSTON, Okla. -- City officials in Kingston say a water pump stopped working Thursday because of mechanical failure. An outdoor watering ban went into effect Friday morning.

Police say driver was drunk in fatal accident

ARDMORE, Okla. -- An accident Thursday night left one person dead and another in custody. Police say Danielle Moose, 19, was the passenger killed when the car she was riding in was hit by Jimmy Tynes, 26, whom police say was drunk.

Native Americans may soon be walking -- or running -- with an extra spring in their step. Nike analyzed the feet of more than 200 Native Americans from 70 tribes, discovering that their feet are, on average, wider and taller.

Townsend honored

Fallen Denison firefighter Phillip Townsend will be among 87 men and women nationally honored for their sacrifices. Townsend died from injuries he received fighting a fire at a Denison business December 30th, 2006.
