More Oklahoma soldiers headed to Iraq

MADILL, Okla. -- More Oklahoma soldiers called to duty are about to be deployed to Iraq. Local soldiers are being called to duty as members of the 1245th Transportation Unit in Madill will be going to Iraq. Official word came this weekend that the men and women of 'the 1245' will be part of the massive deployment with the 45th Infantry Brigade.

Record money raised

SHERMAN -- The Area Agency on Aging and Disabilities of Texoma is celebrating a record setting fundraiser from this past weekend. Officials with the organization say they raised close to $20,000 during their Second Annual Texoma Caregiver Celebration Walk.

Sherman man gets probation in case that killed 19-year-old

GRAYSON COUNTY, Tex. -- A 20-year-old man plead guilty to intoxicated manslaughter in a Grayson County courtroom in late August. Now, Jayson Hollaway, from Sherman, has been sentenced to ten years probation. He will be sent to prison if he breaks that probation.

FEMA assistance approved for Marshall Co.

MARSHALL COUNTY, Okla. -- Federal authorities approved Marshall County for individual disaster assistance on Thursday that covers flood damage from June and July storm. Back in July, Oklahoma Congressman Tom Cole visited Marshall County to see flood damage first hand.

Green formally charged

WYNNEWOOD, Okla. -- A man accused of murdering his wife in broad daylight in April was indicted on Friday. A judge ruled today that there is enough evidence to try Franklin Cecil Green for the April 10th murder of his wife, Gloria Hunter.

Pottsboro making roads safer

POTTSBORO, Tex. – The city of Pottsboro took a step toward improving the safety of county roads on Friday. The group 'Less Tears, More Years' joined community leaders in putting up new road signs Friday afternoon. The signs indicate curves ahead and were placed where one teen was killed in a car crash last May.

Bizarre chain of events in Fannin Co.

FANNIN COUNTY, Tex. -- A bizarre chain of events in Fannin County ended with one man in the hospital. One man is in a Dallas hospital after crashing his car just east of Ivanhoe against a tree. It just so happens that that same man was in a stabbing earlier this week.

Burglary arrest in Gainesville related to Sherman burglaries

SHERMAN -- A 37-year old man is now in custody after trying to sell stolen goods in Gainesville. Sherman Police say they arrested Freddie Ray Price on Thursday night around ten o'clock after obtaining a search warrant for the suspects home in the 600 block of Elm Street.

The Buzz in Texoma: ‘Stuff the Bus’

MARIETTA, Okla. -- ‘Stuff the Bus,’ a community project by students at Marietta and Dickson, takes place this Friday night in Marietta. They're collecting stuffed animals to be given to local organizations like the children's shelter. Even law enforcement uses these animals if a child is scared.

Driver runs from police in 3-car accident

SHERMAN, Tex.-- A traffic accident leads to a chase and ends with one man in the Grayson County Jail. Police say it happened around 8 p.m. Thursday on Texoma Pkwy near the Highway 82 overpass.

SHERMAN, Tex. --Sherman police are using a new tool to help in emergencies, specific to cell phones. They say since most people have cell phones this software is especially helpful to find a person's location when seconds count.

Expanding 82

GRAYSON COUNTY, Tex. -- Transportation officials are planning a lane expansion for one the busiest roadways in North Texas. The project will transform more of the heavily-traveled U.S. Highway 82 eastbound from a two lane highway to four lanes.

Grayson Co. holds public budget hearing

GRAYSON COUNTY, Tex. -- After months of work, Grayson County commissioners have a preliminary budget on the table. They are scheduled to hold a public hearing on proposed tax rates Thursday night.

Construction has local business suffering

SHERMAN -- A local restaurant owner says road construction is ruining his business. Eddie McEwen owns Eddie Mac's on the corner of Lamberth and Travis says he loses around $500 a day because drivers have a tough time getting in and out of his drive-thru.

Two men break in, vandalize convenience store

DENISON, Tex. – Two men were able to break through the roof of one local business, but police say they didn’t get away with anything The break-in took place around two o’clock Thursday morning. Police say the alarm sounded at Lucky Stop off FM 1417 and Highway 691.
