GRAYSON COUNTY, Tex. -- The North Texas Regional Airport will soon be home to the first ever texoma Summer Music Festival. Officials at the airport voted Thursday morning to hold the music festival at the airport with the condition that no alcohol would be served.

The event will feature 23 bands from around the country playing on two stages, and will also include fun events for the entire family. Organizers say a festival like this is long overdue in Texoma.

"There is so much good music around here that I just wanted to get them all together," organizer Joshua Hansard said.

The concert is scheduled for the weekend of July 18-20.

First off I am a huge fan of Texas Hippie Coalition but I will not be taking my children to see them. I think you would be a careless parent if you took your child to see THC!! But they ROCK even if my kids can't see them!!!!!!!!!

thank god yall know good for nothing drunks are not going yall think that u have to drink to have fun well i disagree with that and so do abunch of other people i just have one question would u want ur kids around of drunks? if you do then ur not a good parent that shows u don't give a crap about ur kids if u allow ur kids to be near drunks then ur indangering the childrens lifes and that wrong to do to a child so if u don't like the fact that there isn't any alcohol served then u might as well stay your drunk buts home the people that actually care about there children don't want u there anyways.

FYI people- The North Texas Regional Airport is a dry area. Alcohol cannot be sold there. Only if it is given away can it be served. After the success of this year's show, I'm sure they'll get Andrews or someone to sponsor and donate for the event.

Rocker is cool. People like that are the ones where you'll go into a bar at 2 in the afternoon and they'll be sitting there by themselves totally wasted. Thats definitely the type of crowd these people want at the show, I'm sure. Get a life.

No alchohol only hurts the event organizers pockets. This is why there aren't more of these types of events around here. I drove 60 miles to Germanfest, it was a family environment with alchohol, and no problems. Let's see if there is a 2nd Anuual Texoma Music Festival next year. I have my doubts.

Good Point!! What, does everyone think that just because its a music fest that they should walk around and be wasted all day? I seriously doubt this will affect the attendance of the show.

What,if you can't have no alcohol,You can't have a good time for crying out loud it is a family event who wants their children around a bunch of drunks? Don't kids deserve better than that or do you even care about them. What is this world coming to.

It's good to see an event such as this in this area. We have much to offer and need to utilize the resources around. We need more entertainment, festivals and the like for all to enjoy.

No alcohol ?? Unfortuneatly, that is going to significantly hinder attendence.
