DURANT, OK -- Crews are working to finish a new Durant fire station. A new Durant Emergency Response Complex is under construction.

It's on Enterprise Road about one mile north of the Choctaw Casino. The station is being built on Choctaw land, and will service all of south Durant. Bryan County and Durant Emergency Management will also office there.

Officials say this will greatly reduce response time to that part of town, and is especially pertinent with the Choctaw expansion. The station is expected to be finished by the end of this year.
