HOUSTON (AP) - A 17-year-old Kingwood youth is pleading guilty to abuse of a corpse after authorities say he dug up the remains of an 11-year-old boy and used the skull as a marijuana "bong."

The Houston Chronicle reports Kevin Wade Jones pleaded guilty today. He was sentenced to eight months in county jail for the misdemeanor crime.

Authorities say 17-year-old Matthew Richard Gonzalez, also of Kingwood, and a juvenile whose name hasn't been released, have also
been charged with abuse of a corpse.

Jones told police in May that he and his friends dug up a grave, removed the skull from a coffin and converted it into a "bong," a device used to smoke marijuana.

The corpse belonged to a boy who died in 1921. Houston police learned about the grave theft while interviewing Jones about the use of a stolen debit card.
