HOUSTON (AP) - A pilot and cameraman for a Houston television station died today when their helicopter crashed en route to cover a story.

ABC-owned KTRK-TV reports the two were on their way to a shooting scene in Montgomery County, north of Houston, when the station helicopter crashed in a heavily wooded area.

Local stations showed aerial video of burning trees and a pile of debris made up of pieces of the helicopter. The station's logo was partially visible on one piece.

Lt. Dan Norris is a spokesman for the Montgomery County Sheriff's Department. He confirms to CNN that the helicopter belonged to the TV station and that the two occupants were killed.
