First Alert is a FREE, small, simple application which you can download and install on your Windows based personal computer (currently not available to Mac users), designed to provide you with the latest news and weather alerts without ever leaving your desk.

How does First Alert work?
The First Alert control panel sits directly on your computer desktop. To minimize the window, just click on the X in the upper right corner. The current temperature will be displayed in your Windows task bar.
During severe weather warnings or late breaking news, you will receive a text crawl directly on your computer. The crawl is preceded by an audible alert sound, to bring attention to your computer.
