7-14-05 - Eight years after an Ada couple was murdered in their home, state and local investigators are reopening the case. Ricky and Debra Gatewood's son found them lying in their bed with gunshot wounds on July 13, 1997.
Ricky Gatewood's dad and sister have spent the last eight years in disbelief and wonder. They just can't understand why someone would kill the two people they loved in cold blood. Both had gunshot wounds to the head. Since nothing was stolen, authorities believed it was pure murder.
But after year of investigating, the leads stopped and the case went cold. Now, investigators hope new forensic technology along with some new leads will finally solve this case.
In 1997, that double murder was the first one for the county in 16 years. OSBI is still offering that $5000 reward for any information that leads to an arrest.
