7-18-05 - A two-story house fire is being blamed on a lightning strike on the north side of Ardmore. It happened around 4:30pm off Majestic Hill Road.
Four people lived in the house. One was home when the lightning bolt hit. He told investigators he heard crackling noises and when he went outside, he was smoke billowing from the upstairs of the house.
Firefighters from Ardmore and Dickson were able to contain the flames within 45-minutes. Firefighters credit their ladder truck with saving the 1st floor of the home, because they were able to attack the flames from above.
