9-1-05 - In just a matter of days, gas prices have gone from bad to worse to unbelievable. Prices at one Marietta station and another on Texoma Parkway in Sherman have already topped $3.20 a gallon.
Store owners blame distributors hiking prices. But other areas have it even worse. At least one gas station in Atlanta, GA is charging twice that price – a gallon of gas for more than $6/gallon.
The attorney generals for both Texas and Oklahoma are warning people to beware of price gouging. If you see prices that are suspicious, you can contact the Texas Attorney General at 800- 252-8011. In Oklahoma, call the Consumer Protection Unit at 405-521-2029.
