Tests Reveal Honey Bees Attacked Pontotoc Man

9-16-05 - Average honey bees were responsible for attack on a Pontotoc County man three weeks ago.

84-year-old Joe Daniel was stung over 100 times by a swarm of bees while he was fishing in a creek near his home in August.

The state agriculture department tested those bees and found they are just the average honey bee, not the African killer bees.

Daniel was released from the hospital a day after the attack and is doing fine.
