7-21-05 – A Sherman man had to be taken to the hospital by medical helicopter after he drove his car off a bridge on Mayes Road in Grayson County - Thursday morning.
Residents, living near the site of the wreck, heard the crash and called 911.
The driver, 37-year-old Paul Porter, was partially ejected through the windshield with the car resting on top of him. Firefighters freed the man within minutes, he was still conscious when he was flown to the hospital.
Authorities say the driver admitted to drinking alcohol before the accident. Porter was not wearing a seatbelt.
