Burning Body Found in Cooke Co.

7-22-05 – Texas Rangers and Cooke County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating a gruesome discovery Friday morning. The body of a young woman was found, burning one mile east of Muenster on the south side of Highway 82.

Around 6:30 a.m. an employee for Wimmers Diesel Service smelled something burning and found the body several yards from the back of the garage.

Cooke County Sheriff Mike Compton said the body was covered in tarp and oil. The victim is a white female, believed to be in her 20s. Evidence at the scene links her to the Dallas metroplex.

Her identity is not known and her body will be sent to the Medical Examiner.
