Fire Destroys Paris Apartments

7-22-05 - An apartment complex in Paris, Texas burned down just after midnight. It destroyed three of the four buildings at the One Oak Place Apartments.
The roof was completely engulfed in flames, and tenants say the smoke was overwhelming. All 66 residents got out safely after one tenant called 911.
Firefighters don't yet know how or where the fire started.
Some residents spent the night at the Lamar Avenue Church of Christ, and the Salvation Army is offering to pay each tenant's first month rent at a new complex.
