After 8 years of anchoring First News at 6 & 10, KXII anchor Lisanne Anderson will now be anchoring the area’s most-watched local morning show – First News A.M. It’s one of many changes on the show that viewers can expect on Monday, August 1st, while still receiving their weather forecasts from AMS-certified meteorologist Tom Miller.
So why change up Texoma’s most successful anchor-team of Matt Brown and Lisanne Anderson? Lisanne says it best:
“After nearly eight years of anchoring and producing the Six and Ten o'clock newscasts, I've come to a point in my life where it's time to make some choices,” Lisanne said. “They are certainly not easy choices, but bring with them more challenges and excitement in my life. I have a career that I love. And I have a family that means everything to me. As anyone in the news business will tell you, the two are hard to balance. Now, with the help and understanding of management at KXII, I'll be able to do just that. I'm opening up a new chapter -- moving on from the evenings to getting up early in the mornings. It is a choice I made to spend more time with my family.
“I've loved working with the evening crew at Channel 12. I've made great friends, and been so humbled by the countless viewers who have invited me into their homes every night. And I sincerely hope those same viewers will wake up early with me from here on out.
“This is a time of change for KXII. Opening the door for someone new and bringing new challenges. But, I'm certain our family of viewers will give whoever takes my seat in the evenings the same kindness that Texoma has shown me for the past eight years.
Thank you Texoma.
Now, let’s get up, get moving, and make it fun on First News AM!”

KXII news director Matt Brown is excited about the change. “In this business, it’s difficult to have a family and a career,” Matt said “We’re happy to keep Lisanne as a member of our family and have her spend more time with her family at the same time. I’ve spent 8 years relying on Lisanne on the anchor desk and losing her as a co-anchor is only offset by adding her to First News AM. She’ll provide experience to our morning crew that Texoma viewers will appreciate.”
Beginning August 1st, viewers will wake up to the new First News A.M. The new format will have a focus on the family as well as the latest news and weather that you depend on. We want to help you to be able to get up and informed as well as be entertained. Still broadcast from 6-7am, the show will have new graphics to go with the new face.
Diana Zoga will continue to be a valuable player on the First News team as well, appearing as a reporter and fill-in anchor.
As for a new 6 & 10 co-anchor, KXII has begun a search to find the right person for the job. Stay tuned for further announcements.
