9-28-05 - The man convicted of one of Ada's most infamous murders was on death row, but now he gets a new trial.
In 1982, Debra Sue Carter was raped and murdered in her loft apartment in Ada, and 20 years later, DNA evidence convicted Glen Gore.
Now the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals has granted Gore's request for a new trial. Their decision was based partly on the fact that the presiding judge did not allow certain testimony from the trial of Ronald Williamson.
Williamson and Dennis Fritz were the two originally convicted of the crime back in 1988. They were freed 11 years later by DNA evidence, and Williamson died last year of liver disease.
Gore has been on death row since 2002, and he will appear Thursday morning in a Pontotoc County Court.
