8-3-05 – Troop 1709 of Grayson County returned from the Boy Scout Jamboree on Wednesday night. The group of forty scouts and leaders spent two weeks on the road and in Virginia for the Jamboree. They say the tragedies did not effect their time.

Scout leader Bobby Littlefield says that the event was so crowded that the troop did not even hear about the tragedies until a day later. None of the scouts were hurt by the extreme heat that caused almost 200 cases of heat illness.

Troop 1709 is made up of 13-17 year olds and is made up of Grayson County scouts.
