10-11-05 - Funeral services are Wednesday in Hugo for a Navy sailor killed during a training mission in the Middle East.
Services will be at 1 tomorrow afternoon at Miller and Miller Funeral Chapel for Navy Petty Officer Second Class Brian Joplin. Burial is to be in Arizona near his wife's relatives.
The military says the 32-year-old Joplin died last Tuesday when he fell out of an M-H-53 helicopter in the Central Arabian Gulf. He was assigned to Helicopter Mine Countermeasures Squadron 15 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and based in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Joplin graduated from Grant High School near Hugo and enlisted in the Navy in 1992.
He's survived by his wife, Belinda, two daughters, his father, Larry, two sisters and two brothers.
