Race Against Time in Submarine Rescue

Video will be available shortly.

VLADIVOSTOK, Russia (AP) - An emergency vessel is trying to tow
a Russian submarine that's stuck 625 feet underwater to more
shallow waters.

The mini-sub got snagged on a fishing net in the Pacific. The Pacific Fleet commander tells a local television station a cable has "hooked onto the whole system." He also says there is enough oxygen aboard the submarine to keep the seven crew members alive for at least 18 hours.

The United States and Britain are sending unmanned vehicles to help in the rescue efforts. But if the submarine makes it to more shallow waters, it's possible the sailors could swim to safety. Currently, the submarine is too deep.
