Turnout Low - Sulphur Bond Issue Fails

10-12-05 - Sixteen percent of voters in the Sulphur school district turned out to vote for a bond issue - but not enough of them said yes for the issue to pass. 51% voted against the $3.3 million bond.

The bond would have paid for an annex at the elementary school along with a library and cafeterio. A bond issue in Oklahoma needs 60% to pass.

565 people turned out to vote.
