8-19-05 - AUSTIN, Texas (AP) The latest special legislative session on reforming school finance gavels to a close today -- with no reforms. Governor Rick Perry has now called three special sessions on school finance - one in 2004 and two this summer. None have succeeded.
The battle involves how public schools are funded.
A judge in Austin last year decided the current share-the-wealth system, dubbed Robin Hood, is unconstitutional.
The state then appealed to the Texas Supreme Court. Now legislators must wait until the high court offers some guidance.
