A high potential for flash flooding will continue into Saturday. A few strong storms may generate damaging wind or hail through 12 a.m. Friday. Widespread serious flooding is possible....please never drive into flooded areas.
A Madill ER doctor will head overseas this Wednesday bringing his medical and military skills to victims of the Pakistan earthquake.
Dr. Pete Chambers splits his time between Integris Hospital in Madill, and as a doctor with the National Guard. He's been to Ground Zero, Iraq, and New Orleans performing triage, and now he's been called out again by the Oklahoma Baptist Convention, sending a team to help the tens of thousands who lost everything in last Saturday's earthquake.
Dr. Pete Chambers said, "Was able to combine the two skills, the ability to go out into a bad area and work with very little resources with my medical training; [it] seemed to be a good fit for me and that's why I get called out a lot."
Dr. Chambers will join a handful of other doctors, relieving an Oklahoma Baptist convention team already in place.
He's been in the military for 20 years and got shot in Iraq last year. He just found out he's leaving on Monday.
