Oklahoma Men Survive Boat Wreck


8-25-05 - Two Oklahoma men are lucky to be alive after they were thrown from a boat on Lake Murray Wednesday afternoon at 3:30pm. The owner of the boat, 66-year-old James Hinkle of Lehigh, was then hit by the boat.

Tt happened around 3:30 near Tee Pee Beach. The men were in a bass boat about 200 feet from shore when the boat hit a rock. The collission tossed both men into the water. The un-manned boat started circling and its propeller hit the boat owner in the abdomen.

Both men managed to swim to shore. Rescuers flew Hinkle to Oklahoma City where he's in serious condition.

Neither victim was wearing a life vest.
