9-2-05 - Donors overwhelmed First Aid volunteers for 12 hours on Friday as they dropped of more than $28,000 in cash and checks. The donations are still coming in, and could top 30k.
Red Cross officials were still counting the contents of dozens of donation cans Friday night. Donors had given more than $17,300 at Sherman's Midway Mall. In Ardmore, hundreds of people dropped of change, cash and checks outside Mountain View Mall. Early tabulations showed at least $10,000.
All proceeds will go straight to the local Red Cross chapters for use in the hurricane relief efforts. If you'd still like to donate, follow the links on our website.
