9-15-05 - The president of the Coalgate Chamber of Commerce goes on trial next week on auto theft charges.
Rebecca Washburn was arrested on June 15th on charges stemming from her rental party.
The police chief said her tenants didn't pay rent for several months, and then they left. That's when Washburn apparently took a vehicle on the property.
Washburn said it was abandoned, but the car owners disagreed. The vehicle was eventually retrieved from Washburn's property.
Washburn owns several business in Coalgate including the Country Charm Inn and the Branding Iron.
