10-5-05 - A fire broke out at the Boy Scout building on Frisco Road just before 10 a.m. Wednesday morning in Sherman. No one was inside, and the question still remains as to how it happen.
The Sherman Fire Department got the call around 10 a.m. that there were flames in the building, and they are saying this fire looks suspicious.
A passerby saw flames inside the white brick building and alerted fire fighters.
Engines arrived at the spot where Boy Scout Troops regularly hold meetings and were able to put the fire out after fighting it for about 10 minutes.
Afterwards, they said it looked suspicious since the building was filled with mostly office equipment and there are no electrical appliances or anything else that would have started the fire. Also, the front door had been pried open.
While they are saying the fire looked suspicious, they are waiting for an investigator to determine what or who set this fire.
One room was damaged by the flames, but there was smoke damage throughout the entire building.
