10-10-05 - Employees at Weber Aircraft in Gainesville ended a two-and-a-half week strike Sunday when they approved a new contract, providing them with better benefits and working conditions.
The picket line has been strong on Weber Drive while the employees held out for their new contract. Before today's vote, they rejected two previous contracts.
Today's agreement had the teamsters full recommendation and was approved overwhelmingly with 98 percent of the vote. Teamsters received a 25 percent pay increase, better retirement benefits and more strict outsourcing criteria.
Employees will fo back to work Monday.
