PARIS, TX - Lamar County confirms a man has died from West Nile.
The Health Department won't release the man's identity, but say he died Tuesday morning. They say he suffered from other health complications before contracting the neuroinvasive form of the West Nile virus.
According to the Texas State Department of Health, to date 7 cases of the virus have been confirmed in Lamar County, 2 in Cooke County, 1 in Grayson and one in Fannin County.
However the Grayson County Health Department tells they currently have 8 confirmed West Nile cases.
In Oklahoma, Carter County has confirmed 14 and 2 deaths. Three cases are confirmed in Bryan, one in Marshall, and one in Garvin County.
