KINGSTON, Okla. -- Some former legendary Oklahoma Sooner football players were in Kingston on Thursday to talk to students about life’s challenges and the dangers of substance abuse. Former OU players Carl McAdams and Jim Riley spoke at Kingston High School Thursday morning.

McAdams played for the Super Bowl III champion New York Jets with Joe Namath after his playing days at OU, and Riley went on to play in the NFL as well, and was a member the 1972 Miami Dolphins, the last team to go undefeated.

Riley told the story of his life and how he struggled with addiction.

"I’m trying to get them to do two things - Get them to think and get them to feel. Get them to make good decisions on their own, instead of somebody standing over them saying, ‘You shouldn't be doing that.’ That didn't work for me, so I didn't do that for them."
