OKLAHOMA CITY -- A former Elmore City resident is getting a new trial in the shooting death of his best friend. 26-year-old Kristopher Morphew was sentenced last year to 20 years in prison in the death of Adam Ryan Baker.

Baker and Morphew shared an apartment in Norman at the time of the killing.

The Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals tossed out Morphew's conviction after ruling instructions given to the jury didn't fully explain the state law regarding second degree murder.
