Denison, TX - A new charity in Texoma kicked off its first fundraiser today in Denison, and that means more children and their families could be getting the help they need.

"There are a lot of families that are basically losing their income, their house, their car because their child needs full time care,” said Tunde Holdren.

Tunde Holdren and her husband Jim know what it's like to have a child with a life threatening disease, their four year old daughter has already had two brain surgeries.

“Jim and Tunde are friends of mine and it was pretty heart wrenching for me when I found out about their daughter and being the father of three children it hit home with me,” said Sherman resident Bryan Bentley.

So what started out as a benefit for the Holdren family soon grew into something much bigger - the Little Angels in Need Foundation.

"It is very personal and it is a very big mission that we want to take all the way and help as many children as we can and families,” said Holdren.

Little Angels held its first fundraiser Sunday at T-Bones Bar and Grill from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. There was live music and a silent auction, all geared to start raising money to help families like theirs. The funds will go to basic needs like groceries, gas cards and toys.

"Just good times and fellowship for everyone to come together and see what we can do to help some children,” said Bentley.

And the new foundation that started right here in Texoma seems like a perfect fit.

"We're a small community in Texoma, and you know we're a community that likes to be involved and to give so it's extremely important for everyone to get involved,” said Bentley.
