ADA, OK - A recent blood drive in honor of a fellow student battling a potentially deadly disease turned out to be the largest blood drive this Texoma school has ever had.

Ada Junior High held its annual blood drive Tuesday in honor of ninth grader Faith Walker.

Faith is fighting Hodgkins lymphoma, an aggressive form of cancer.

The junior high set a goal of 100 units of blood and they were able to reach 112 units.

Blood donations taken at the drive will give Faith credit for platelets and blood next time she needs them.
