ADA, OK - An Ada man accused of threatening a Pontotoc County Assistant District Attorney has been sentenced to forty-one months in federal prison.

Authorities said 33-year-old David Paul McKnight pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm.

McKnight's sentence will be followed by thirty-six months of supervised release.

Last September, McKnight was arrested by Pontotoc County authorities after he wrote a letter to a friend in jail that outlined a plot to murder an assistant district attorney.

During a search warrant authorities found multiple guns and knives in McKnight's home.

McKnight is not eligible for parole.
