SHERMAN, TX - Austin College is helping their community "think green."

The school partnered up with the "E-Waste Disposal of Dallas" this morning and collected unwanted electrical equipment.

Dozens of people dropped off trunk-loads of old electronics and recyclable materials at Austin College.

Several computer monitors, old T.V's, VHS tapes, and VCR's were collected. Austin College E-Waste Coordinator Kim Snipes says this
is part of the "thinking green initiative," where they encourage everyone to dispose of materials properly or if possible recycle them.

"You want to have stuff get reused," said Kim Snipes. "We're not having to mine for more for more of these precious metals, most of which aren't found in the United States or having to import palladium and other precious metals."

If you missed today's E-Waste collection, there will be another one in March.
