DENISON, TX-Just weeks after a major Denison employer started letting go of dozens of its employees, several local businesses are hiring.
Workforce Solutions Texoma hosted a job fair in Denison Thursday. Director, Bob Rhoden said over 200 people filed in with resumes to meet with eight employers. Rhoden said these employers came forward with job opportunities as soon as they heard that TrailBlazer would be laying off over 400 people.
"I think what you see is that people are turning from thinking 'ok, i'm gonna lose my job' to 'wow, I'm gonna make a decision where I'm gonna go to work next, I'm gonna have a choice,'" he said.
