ANNA, TX - A charter bus carrying the Austin College men's and women's basketball teams to DFW Airport caught fire on U.S. Highway 75 around noon Thursday near the Grayson/Collin county line.

According to Austin College spokesperson Lynn Womble, thirty athletes were on board when the fire started. Anna Fire Chief Frank Roma says no one was hurt. He says that the fire looks like it started near the engine compartment.

"It appears the fire started near the back of the bus somewhere in the area of the engine compartment but we don't know the exact cause," Roma said. "That's under investigation."

The teams were headed to DFW Airport to fly to Colorado for a competition. We're told they were able to make their.

The fire shut down southbound U.S. 75 for a short time, but it has since reopened.
