DAVIS, OK - The Chickasaw Nation celebrated the completion of two new facilities Thursday morning.
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held for the new Chickasaw Nation Welcome Center, as well as retail portion of Bedré Fine Chocolate.
In March, the tribe plans to open the manufacturing side of Bedré Fine Chocolate and offer tours through the factory to the public.
Chickasaw Nation Governor Bill Anoatubby says the tribe hopes the new buildings will attract more tourists to the area.
"A lot of folks, you say the word tourism, they do not necessarily relate that to economic development, jobs and so on," Anoatubby said. "But tourism is a driving force in Oklahoma."
Both buildings are located at exit 55 off I-35 near Davis. The grand opening for the facilities will be Dec. 1 at noon.
