FANNIN COUNTY, TX - The Fannin County Sheriff's Office is looking for an inmate who escaped a work detail this morning.

Law enforcement tells us 45-year-old Jimmy Lee Brock was working alongside FM 1396 near Honey Grove around 8:30 this morning when he stole an employee's car, a 2008 gold Chevy Impala with handicapped Texas plates LP9-DPKZ.

Brock is described as a white man, about 5' 8" tall and weighs about 160 pounds with many tattoos. He was last seen wearing an orange jumpsuit and brown jacket and possibly had a tan shirt under the jumpsuit. He's due in court tomorrow on a charge of evading arrest and also faces animal cruelty charges in a trial set for next month.

According to C.E.C. jail staff, at the time of his disappearance Brock was a part of the Inmate Worker program, and he had been for approximately 2 months with no problems. C.E.C. is a private jail that contracts with Fannin County to hold inmates.

If you've seen this vehicle or Jimmy Lee Brock, you're asked to call the Fannin County Sheriff's Office at 903-583-2143.
