SHERMAN, TX-More than 50 Texomans took on heart disease Saturday morning. It's part of the first annual HeartChase event in Grayson county and is sponsored by the American Heart Association.
Eleven teams of five took part in the scavenger hunt in downtown Sherman answering heart health trivia questions and faced physical challenges in each station.
Communications chair Kelby Owens said the HeartChase app helped the teams navigate through the course and collect points that can earn them first place.
"First of all, we want them to have a good time. Of course and we want them to be heart healthy and each checkpoint is designed to provide physical activity as well as creating special awareness about things that you can do to take care of your heart," he said.
The next HeartChase event will be in April of next year.
