High speed chase leads to arrest

GARVIN COUNTY, OK--A Byars man faces charges in two counties after leading officers on a high speed chase yesterday.

41-year-old Stephen Logan George allegedly ran a deputy off highway 19 into a ditch then led him on a pursuit.

Pontotoc county sheriff John Christian said George was clocked at 100 miles-per-hour and blew past a road block and a four way stop. He was arrested yesterday and faces several charges including eluding officers and DUI.
