CLEVELAND COUNTY, OK -- The Johnston County Task Force is helping battle a wildfire in Cleveland County. Authorities say dozens of homes have been destroyed in the blaze.
About 20 firefighters from Johnston County are fighting the wildfire in Cleveland County just after battling the massive blaze in Luther, Oklahoma that destroyed more than 60 homes. Crews fought that fire from 7 Friday night until 9 Saturday morning.
Director of Johnston County EMS Kenny Power describes getting to the wildfire in Luther.
"The fire when we got there was all down both sides of the road hwy 66. We had to come in from the east because the highways were all blocked. It was total darkness except for an orange glow very hot and then the fire had created a massive amount of intense he at and a lot of heavy wind," Power said.
