ARDMORE, OK--As dozens of firefighters continue to fight the wildfires sweeping through central Oklahoma, Texoma firefighters in Ardmore are preparing for the worst.
Ardmore firefighters said they are no longer issuing burn permits for controlled burns within the city limits. They said the burn ban affects the entire county and anyone caught burning could face hundreds of dollars in fines.
They asked the public to report any suspicious behavior to authorities. Firefighters said residents should never try to fight fires on their own.
