ADA, OK - A man convicted of selling a synthetic drug that led to the death of two people was sentenced to prison Monday.

22-year-old Cody Weddle was sentenced to ten years in prison and ten years of probation on two second-degree murder counts and two drug-related counts.

Pontotoc County authorities said as part of Oklahoma law, Weddle will only spend 8.5 years of the ten years behind bars.

Prosecutors said in July Weddle entered a blind plea of no contest for the charges.

Weddle is accused of purchasing a synthetic drug on the internet and selling it to Anastasia Jewell and Andrew Ackerman who both later died.
