SULPHUR, OK - Sulphur police said hundreds of prescription medications are missing from a local nursing home, and it is not the first time.
Police Chief David Shores said nearly five hundred pills were taken from a locked filing cabinet at Callaway Nursing Home.
The meds were supposed to be destroyed by a pharmacist the same day they were discovered missing.
Shores said the investigation is open and so far no charges have been filed.
Just 5 months ago, seven Callaway employees were arrested for allegedly calling in thousands of fake hydrocodone prescriptions for residents, using a small amount of the drug then selling the rest on the streets.
Shores says the two cases do not appear to be related.
Callaway Nursing Home President Sam Jewell declined to comment.
