New details emerge in Johnston Co. shooting

JOHNSTON COUNTY, OK - A judge has denied bond for a Johnston county teen accused of murder.

18-year-old Shelby Hicks was arrested for first degree murder Friday night and is scheduled for formal arraignment Thursday.

According to an affidavit, Hicks admitted to shooting and killing 24-year-old Sergei Hyde at a home near Kenefic. The affidavit states Hicks told law enforcement he was house sitting for a friend when Hyde attempted to break into the home.

Hyde was shot three times with a hand gun and pronounced dead at the scene.
