ARDMORE, OK--An Oklahoma state law maker is pushing to have guns allowed in churches and other places of worship.

Representative Mike Ritze said that an attack on his family and several others in churches across the state has prompted him to clarify the Stand Your Ground law; so that it includes all places of worship among the places that Oklahoma citizens have the right to protect themselves against intruders using physical or deadly force.

On Monday the proposed legislation passed the house judiciary committee by a vote of 10 to 3, but will still need to go through the house of representatives and state senate before being signed into law. If the law is passed it could go into effect as early as November of this year.

I think this issue is about constitutional rights of the people as governed. It has nothing to do with faith or fear. Those are smoke screens for some political agenda. Vote for open carry with no restrictions! The cream will rise to the top.

Who knows when a deranged anti-abortion kook will come in looking for doctors while they are in church. Or better yet. Maybe they could invite their fellow Baptists from the westboro church in Kansas for a good old fashioned shootout.

Truly laughable. Where is the faith? Don't the Christians KNOW that their God will protect them? After all, didn't God send 2 bears to kill 42 CHILDREN just for taunting the bald head of Elisha? 2 Kings 2:24-25 (Which itself is illogical. Did that 42nd Child just stand there as the bears went down the line killing the other 41 children? I imagine it takes a minute or two to rip apart each child right? RUN!)

For people of "faith", y'all sure are fearful lot. If you were truly faithful, you wouldn't fear death. You should welcome it. What would Jesus do? I don't think he would carry a handgun.

A good thing. Vehicle barricades and a posted wouldn't be a bad thing either. Christian churches are a common terrorist target in almost all of the world now. It will be here someday too.

Good job Oklahoma! Having "gun free zones" are an open invitation to the thugs who have the guns anyway.
