LAKE TEXOMA-Rescue crews have called off the search Thursday night for a man who may have drowned on Lake Texoma.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol and first responders from both Bryan and Marshall counties searched the lake for about three hours for a possible drowning victim.
They said it happened about 50 to 60 yards south of the Roosevelt Memorial Bridge. OHP troopers tell us a 61-year old man jumped-off a boat at Lake Texoma sometime between 6:00 and 7:00 Thursday evening and never resurfaced. Investigators said the man had been drinking.
OHP Marine Division and Cartwright Fire used boats to search the water for the man. Trooper Michael Green said the man is local, from the Marshall, Bryan county area. They're calling this a "possible drowning" and said the search could take days.

"The elements are involved when a drowning occurs: currents, the body surfacing when it gets ready to surface, temperature of the water, temperature of the air, too many factors," he said.

Trooper Green said there was a woman in the boat when the man jumped into the water, her condition is unknown. No names have been released.
The OHP, Bryan and Marshall county emergency responders will resume the search Friday morning.
