LAKE TEXOMA-Search and rescue teams are still at the scene of a "possible drowning." Crews are Trying to find a man, who was believed to have jumped from a boat last night.
Search and rescue teams from the OHP, Marshall and Bryan counties have been at Lake Texoma since early Friday morning, searching the waters and banks to see if the man has resurfaced.
Marshall County Search and Rescue told us crews have been searching the waters since 6:30 Friday morning. They, along with OHP Lake Patrol, Cartwright Fire and Lake Texoma Park Rangers are out with their boats going through the banks and part of the lake where the man was believed to have jumped.
OHP troopers said last night, a 61-year-old man jumped off a boat 50 to 60 yards south of the Roosevelt Memorial Bridge. They also said the man had been drinking. Right now, investigators are calling this a "possible drowning."
Marshall County Search and Rescue's Dean Wise said the search took longer because they don't know the exact location of where the man jumped off.
"If he's at that location, it's like 80 feet deep which makes it extremely difficult to drag. The water temperature is a lot cooler down there and depending on what his condition is, his size and everything, will depend on the hours it takes," he said.
Wise said, based on the lake conditions, the body may resurface Friday night. If not, search and rescue teams will go back to the scene early Saturday morning.
No names have been released, but they tell us the man is local.
